LARGE PRINT PROJECTS

Some work from the other end of the size spectrum. Large-scale graphics and some specialty printing. Along with projects that are large in scope and included large scale printing along with regular size pieces.

RP Window Treatments

The RP Windows project was a true labor of love for me. Adding pops of color to the beautiful 29th floor space that had glass everywhere and an incredible 360 degree view of Indianapolis. I was tasked with creating the graphics to cover all the conference room glass and doors, as well as the seven segment, accordion glass wall for the “Mile Square” Training Room. Each of the rooms was named after an Indy neighborhood and the graphics reflected the feel for each area, landmarks, and association logos on the doors. The Mile Square training room was covered with buildings from the Indy skyline in “rainbow” colors. The public facing glass panels for the Fountain Square conference room were frosted and I used frosted vinyl for a frosted on frosted treatment. The graphics were simply the RP logo and the “You Are Beautiful” statement that emulates the large wording on top of the Murphy Building in Fountain Square.

The goals for the project were to add color accents from the RP color palette throughout the office on the abundant glass space. We wanted a level of privacy in the rooms without completely blocking out all the wonderful natural light. Based on the photos, I believe you can see we met those goals. The materials were Oracal Optically Clear PSV for all the color treatments. The “frosted” looks were achieved with Oracal 8510 Dusted. All graphics were applied first surface.

DMEXCO Booth Graphics

The DMEXCO booth gave Return Path a large footprint at this important event. It was a rather immersive environment that gave us a chance to use the RP Red heavily with our “We Know Email” messaging and pattern. The event is held annually in Cologne, Germany.

Graphics for La Casa Azul The Musical

This project is a freelance undertaking for the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre. It is not technically a large format project overall. However the piece shown here is an 8′ x 18′ banner on the side of the Phoenix Theatre in downtown Indy. The graphics were done for La Casa Azul The Musical, which ran from July 11-28, 2019. The musical is based on the life of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. The imagery was inspired by my wife, Mirvia Sol Eckert’s painting, “Looking Within” (shown below). I added the rose thorns to symbolize the pain and turbulence that Frida faced during her life. The skull pattern on her garment symbolizes “death”, which was an obsession throughout many years of her life. In the play, “Death” is a constant companion.

ExactTarget Connections 2014

Connections was ExactTarget’s signature event between 2007 and 2014. It grew to become the largest digital marketing conference in the world during that time. My logo design was chosen for Connections 2014. The images that follow below show the graphics that I personally created for the event. The event was massive and these images represent only a portion of the total produced.

The event took a brilliant team effort each year and 2014 was the largest yet. It also was the most labor-intensive from the design team’s standpoint. Mid-stream rebranding efforts impacted the website, signage, main stage, presentations, web banners, and all supporting materials. The team pulled together and made the event a wonderful success.

A few examples of the range of pieces I produced for the event are shown below. Large wall and stairway graphics, name badges, and the icon for the mobile app.

Connections 2014 Logo variants

The Connections 2014 logo was a prime example of the need for adaptability. Typically we had to ensure the logo worked on orange, but the 2014 logo had to work on Salesforce blue as well. Because the original design incorporated both ET orange and Salesforce blue, I created logo variants that worked on orange, blue, white and gray backgrounds. Variations are shown below.
